Product Description

This olive oil soap is made from a unique combination of olive oil and a mixture of treated mud from the Dead Sea.  The mud strengthens and purifies the skin, while leaving it flexible.  Dead Sea Mud Soap is ideal for oily skin and for treatment of juvenile acne.  Because of its deep cleaning ability this soap can also be used as a facial mask:  wet your face, distribute the soap over your face, massaging into the skin. Wait 3 minutes, then wash your face with warm water and dry. The result is clean, nourished skin.

Olive oil helps regenerate skin tissue and regulate natural moisture balance.  Olive oil is rich in antioxidants which neutralize free radicals.  Olive oil helps make the skin smooth and soft while it stimulates, strengthens and nourishes the skin.

Today only a few soap makers still actively make soap in Nablus, Palestine with the most prominent being the Nablus Soap Company. Olive soap from Nablus is made by hand using a small number of ingredients, with a mixture of olive oil and salt as the basis. This is a delicate process. The Tbeleh family has used this recipe for centuries and today Mojtaba Tbeleh is the master soap maker.

The mixture is cooked and then dried. After that, the blocks are carved by the Tubeli, soap makers, and piled into characteristic geometric towers.  These soap blocks are stamped with the Nablus name. The soap must then be left to dry for another few months before it is ready to use.

Hand crafted in Nablus, Palestine.
